James,
I feel like you are my personal cheerleader in life. You are a great listener; like the rest of the world just goes away while you are listening to me and coaching me. I know that there is not a judgemental bone in your body. I could tell you anything I have ever done or thought and I know you do not judge me. Yet at the same time you are very honest and hold me accountable.
I have so enjoyed tracking my efforts on your tracking sheet. I am not a check the box kind of person and am amazed at how much pride I take checking off things I added to my custom list like self talk, praying, reading God's word, exercise, eating healthy, and thinking positive thoughts. It has kinda turned me into my own cheerleader as well. I have gained a lot of needed confidence through your coaching and techniques.
I am really looking forward to us focusing on my purpose in life next.
Thanks for feeding me daily with your encouragement & cheering me on!
To anyone reading this, James is as "real" of a person you could ever meet, and lives life as a man after God's own heart.
Thanks for making this world we live in a better place by investing your gifts in God's people. James, you really do "knock us alive".
Sincerely,
Krista Tidey
“I Was Born To Win” is clearly God inspired and written in a manner for anyone ranging from young adolescence to the elderly to understand and apply to daily living. It is appealing to the secular population as well as Christian readers. James won my heart by dedicating it to his two most important women; his mother and daughter, then, humbly gave all the credit to God and the folks in his acknowledgements.
My two favorite chapters are “The Value of Giving” and “Paradigm Shifts”. Love really does cover a multitude of sins and is good for the heart. Having the ability to see life through another’s window is essential for growth and development.
James uses many people’s lives, including his own to make his points and present his information. He has a profound, unique way of explaining what seems like the most complex concepts into simple layman terms. And then makes it exciting at the same time. He has the ability to make the murkiest water crystal clear. I read his book in two days. It made me laugh, cry, and think. Most importantly, it motivated me to put his strategies to work. Whether you are tired of losing and want to win, or already winning and want to win more, this book is a priceless tool.
Thank you James for your insight, Godly wisdom, and unique gift to inspire myself and others who will read your book!
Sincerely,
Krista Tidey
James,
I'm so thrilled that we connected again after the couple of years since we spoke on your radio show. It was a real pleasure to be a part of your seminar as one of your sponsors. Although the turnout wasn't as large as we had hoped, I believe that the people that attended had their fill of useful and insprational material.
Bryan Flannigan was a joy to watch and listen to. He has such a sharp wit and had some very influential things to say.
Although I've known you for a few years now, this was the first time I had the pleasure of seeing you in action. I was personally touched by the part of your talk that touched upon the "Detours" that we take in life to avoid pain. It was an epiphany of sorts for me to realize that you were describing my life to a tee!
More people need to hear what you have to say and we need to work together to get that word out.
Congratulations on your sucesses.
Respectfully,
Lou Sansevero

Hello James
You impressed me at your seminar and that is hard
to do. I don't know exactly why, but I felt a connection with you, even
though we only talked for a minute. Your presentation really started me
thinking about where I am, not only in my business, but more importantly
in my Life. You hit the nail right on the head with staying in the
conscious pain to avoid the unconscious pain.
Iam just
starting on chapter three in your book and so far the book is fantastic.
I love you Wishlist and this sentence from chapter two - "If the
wishlist has to come before winning we will loose every time"
For
those of you who are wondering what the Wishlist is, get the book. You
will be glad that you did. In my opinion it is worth way more that the
cost of purchase.
James, I look forward to getting to know you
better.
God Bless

Hi James
Just wanted to thank you for signing my book. I put in 72 hours in 4 days at my full time job taking care of a 91 year old .Always long hours. I do enjoy positive encouraging events when I can, A must! for me. So much negativity ,complaints and sickness 12 + hrs.a day. I love what I do for a living ,but some times long hours of care giving beats up on your body & mind .But,I started your book , enjoying it so far.I know I will get a lot out of it. With So much frustration and negativity, every where you turn It's always a pleasure to meet someone to empower you for the positive side. Loved your honesty and sense of humor. James, It was a pleasure meeting you. I thought the seminar was very empowering. Got a lot out of it. I Look forward to seeing you again.
What a great website this is. I really needed something like this to pick me up and inspire me. that clip from Rocky really made my day today. Thank you again!
Dear James:
I just to have to point something out to you.
Maybe it's because of my 23 years clean & sober in recovery, but I just could not get over the association I made to your logo with the water glass and DWI on it. I'm not suggesting an negative impression, just an interesting choice on your part.
Before I investigtgated your site further to get the association, I was convinced this was a series on someone's legal consequences of a DWI (Driving While Intoxicated) and perhaps coming to terms with their alcoholism!
In my mind it made perfect sense with 'born to win' and "learning to live life on life's terms" as is suggested when confronting addictions.
I still worry about how I think sometimes...
Thanks for all you do!
Grateful Al
I had the blessed opportunity of hearing James Smith speak a few weeks ago at a banquet recognizing graduating high school seniors. As one of those students to whom he was speaking, I was inspired and I now feel fully motivated to conquer future challenges. James truly has a gift for motivation!
James is high on life! He lives each day with passion and excitement. My students and parents most definitely enjoyed hearing him speak over "I Was Born to Win." If you get the chance to have James come share with you, it would definitely be worth your time because lives will be changed. - Coley
James,
Thank you so much for your DWIs! I look forward to going to my inbox each day, to hear your inspiration and positive thoughts. Your site is a shining star in the broad expanse of the internet world. I want you to know that it is wonderful people like you, and the folks that you showcase here that make this world a great place to live in. I will continue to listen and enjoy your positive messages each day. Keep up the great work! Don't hesitate to call on me if you find yourself looking for ideas.
Namaste,
~Nicky
Hey James,
Just wanted to thank you for the DWI's. I listen to them at night after the kids get home from school. We always get some good insight out of them. We have particularly enjoyed the DWI's with Zig Ziglar.
I love you. You have a powerful and loving Inner Being.
I just wanted to give an update on my life coaching with James. In a previous testimony I was battling trying to stay positive and enjoying my life. Well the reason I was even struggling with this was I was in a relationship with a man I was not happy with. But with my low self esteem and my fear of being alone, I continued to be with him. But through counseling I realized that there will be pain leaving a man I love but it will be worth it in the end. I will feel better about myself and my self esteem should start to rise.
As of now, it has been three weeks since I left him. I will be honest...IT IS PAINFUL!! It has been a very messy breakup, emotionally I didn't think I could do it. I wanted to go back to him several times. My ex played awful mind games....it really has been awful.
But everytime I felt the urge to call my ex, I would call James and he was always willing to talk to me. He also has good timing with his inspirational text messages. It would give me some hope.
Mostly James said I need to start with simple things...1) reading and listening to positive information 2) looking at myself in the mirror and doing wht he calls in his book the "self talk" 3) changing my thought process to think positive 4) pray. I am not a big believer in prayer (God will do as He wants is my feeling). But the other day I found myself praying "Lord get me through this lonely weekend-so I'm not tempted to speak to (my ex)" It was a weekend full of family and friends and a night of guidance with James that I did not plan. My prayer was answered.
James has me focusing on the outcome, my future, my reward for all this pain....a better way of life for me.
James, I would like to congratulate you for you web page and the greatest DWI´s I recived every morning. I think you are doing a wondelful job and helping and motivating to lot of people..In my opinion this is a good example of how to change the world and make the difference we want to see.....THANKS AGAIN
GOD BLESS YOU
your friend
Cesar D.
James has been a wonderful influence in my life. He helps us to recognize and experience God's presence. He teaches, exhorts and leads with strength and substance, while constantly feeding you with the 'good, pure and positive'. A joy to be around and fountain of knowledge, James is awesome. - Margo Wilson, Bradenton FL
I've had a few sessions with James and I must admit the hardest part is trying not to let others effect my moods. I want to stay positive and happy with my life and I believe James has found a good way to make this happen. Its all about controlling my emotions when it comes to other people. I will not have them controlling how I feel.
Another hard thing is finding ways to fill-what James calls-my "love tank". Someone like me who has had deep depression, it takes alot to find things to fill it. I still seem to find those 'quick' fills that only last a few hours. I know James will help me find the right things to fill "it" with.
Good Morning James,
Through eyes filled with tears, I write to you to say a HUGE "THANK YOU" for your comforting and encouraging words! You cannot know how much I needed to hear that!! I can only hope and pray that **** will give the reigns of her life to GOD. I am convinced beyond a shadow of doubt, that HE is the only one that can help her!! Although, I am ever soooo grateful that **** has you in her corner!! I soooooooo appreciate your valuable insight!!!!
Wishing you a blessed day!!
Take Care,
Joan
I just wanted to tell you that I went to Virginia to visit my daughter and my parents the first week of August and I gave my book to my daughter. She is reading it and is really into it. I thought that was awesome, because that usually doesn't happen with her where she finds a book that holds her attention. She looks great. She has gained her weight back and I can tell her attitude about things are changing. I know she has a long way to go, but I really think your book is inspiring her to be a better person. I have praised this book to several people and they have bought copies. I really didn't know that I would be marketing your book, I think its kind of funny. Anyway, I thought I share that with you. Thanks. :)
James is truly a one of a kind motivational inspirater. Throughout his book and the years I
have been his friend, he is always friendly, upbeat and contagious with positive enthusiasm. We are all winners and it is great to be alive!

James,
I enjoy your newsletter coming into my email, and especially at this New
Year. Among the many challenges in my life and desires to turn wishes
into accomplished goals, I was inspired to begin telling people whom I meet
daily, "You were born to win!" I started by telling my 90-years young
mother this morning and it made her countenance light up instantly. She
decided to say it back to me. That is how I am able to win in 2009: by
telling everyone else that they were born to win.
Thanks for the inspiration.
I just wanted to say thank you. I woke up this morning
feeling really depressed. Like I have been over the past few months. When I
checked my email there was only one and in it was a link to a viedo on you tube
with Nick. I cried and then I realized how truly blessed I really was. I have a
wonderful family and great friends. So thank you and keep up the great work.

I commend James Smith for writing AND publishing this book himself. The
book is a definite read for anyone who loves inspirational, positive
literature that makes one stop and take stock of their lives. It has
the ability to move one forward when stuck in a rut, and to push those
who are already on a great path even further. Young or old, there is
something for everyone in this fine book. James captures the essence of
our being, LOVE, and shows us a path that takes us down a road of
fulfillment while also bring us to our W.I.S.H.L.I.S.T (You'll have to
read the book to see the meaning) without chasing after it. Highly
motivational and recommended reading. My congratulations to James for
this brave work and I look forward to his future works. - Lou
This is a superb book. I started reading and could not stop reading
after the first chapter. It's not just a "read-only" book As you
reflect on different areas of your life the key changes to help you in
your life. You have done a great job on this book.
I would reccommend anyone to read this wonderful book. - Linda
In his book I Was Born to Win, James A. Smith encourages us with practical steps to winning effectively. As you read this insightful and enjoyable book, reflect on how these principles are truly relevant to your life. Then take purposeful action! - Michael Schwambach, Chief Solutions Officer, Schwambach Performance Engineering, Incorporated. Ocala, FL.
I approached the reading of the book with a large dose of scepticism as the whole concept seemed to be just another self-help book based on everyone reaching their highest potential as humans. The book is so much more than that! It connects the reader to the only source available for a life of meaning, relevance and joy. It is well written and enjoyable to read while being profound in its message of God being the power of everyone who is truly a 'winner'. - Billy Tullos, Bradenton, Fl.
James - Thank for your work on writing a book that clearly defines what true success looks like as well as offering understandable strategies for achieving it. After reading it I am certain of two things. First, that it will benefit all who take the time to read it and second, if it was written by one of today's more recognized authors it would quickly move up the best seller list. Thanks for encouraging all of us to go out and 'knock 'em alive' - Chip Powell, Bradenton, FL.

I don't know anyone more passionate about life than James A. Smith. He
has an awesome desire to help others live up to their full potential. I
appreciate his encouraging spirit and his dedication to personal
growth. He is a Winner!
