Radio: Building the "Self" in Self-employed

More and more people are turning to the self-employed arena.
Whether it's because of the economy, corporate fallout, or
Internet opportunities, self-employment is on the rise.
I personally believe all of us are self-employed. You are the best one at
determining your ability to get and keep a job. Regardless of who signs your
paycheck, you're the one who decides how yourself will perform. In other
words, you employ yourself.
Those of us who realize this know we're never in jeopardy of losing a job.
Companies are only able to exist because people are willing to trade their
talents, skills, and abilities in return for income. When we do the things to
make the self better we're building an employee who becomes more valuable.
More value demands higher income, better benefits, and the most favorable
conditions. Any business owner will verify this.
Are you in demand? Of course you are. Want to be in higher demand? You
can change it.
I will be discussing this topic on the radio for the next few weeks. I will be
interviewed by a local businessman and we'll discuss the fundamental
differences between an employee and a self-employed person. Surprisingly,
it's not who's writing the check.
