Radio: How to Avoid Bailouts

Between the Presidential Campaign and the Bailout there's been more finger- pointing than a police officer directing traffic at a ball game. I understand why there's all the finger-pointing - to identify the source of the problem. After all, it's hard to patch a flat tire until you know where the hole is.
We certainly have many flat tires and a lot of holes to patch. Like yourself, I've heard all sorts of reasons why our country is in the mess it's in. From the Lenders, Mortgage Brokers, Fannie/Freddie, Politicians, CEO's, and greedy Wall Street. All of these are true to some extent but I want to be very careful not to put all the blame on those folks. You see, if we put all the blame on them then we also have to put all our faith in them to fix it! We then become victims and as you're aware, victims have little hope.
Personally, I would rather look in the mirror for the problem. If I can find a wrong choice that I personally made then I am able to really do something about my problems. Maybe that choice was as small as voting for the wrong official or taking bad advice. Or maybe I've been living above my means and when it came down to crunch time, I got crunched! Whatever it is, once I'm willing to look in the mirror to identify the problem then I get to look in the mirror to find the solution. This gives me the freedom of choice, responsibility, and hope. While there are many problems, you and I can only control so many. Therefore let's try to focus on the one's we are able to solve.
On Monday night's radio show we will discuss specific ways we get into and out of bailout situations.
Question; Who do you blame for the bailout and how do you plan to avoid another one in the future?
