How do you prepare for storms? Your reply may be discussed on the Radio Show this Monday night 09.15.08
As we see all the devastation of Hurricane Ike, I want to remind you to keep the victims in your prayers. While Ike was a huge storm, thanks to technology, warnings, and common sense, many people were able to heed the warnings and get out of harms way. In other words, they were able to weather the storm.
Wouldn't it be cool if we were able to predict, forecast, and notice the warning signs with all storms in life? Storms like divorces, deaths, job losses, real estate crashes, gas increases, and addictions. Would we heed the warnings? Would we prepare? Would we try to proactively do something about it? I believe most of us would, provided we are convinced the storm will affect us.
The challenge is knowing if the storm will affect us. I mean really, how many of us think we'll get divorced or think we will grow up to become an addict? How many of us take a job thinking we will lose it? Most of us somehow think we will avoid many of these storms, therefore we do not prepare.
On Monday night's radio show we will discuss how to project and prepare for storms in life. But preparation is only a factor once we see a need for it.
Question; How do you prepare for unknown storms?
Please reply by 10am Monday morning.
Here's one strategy I use. I try to remind myself daily that the storm I'm in today can be used as a story tomorrow that will inspire or encourage others.
Believe it or not, the above comment helps me face storms. It reminds me that storms are a very real part of success and winning. Think about any great piece of information you've ever received. It was great because it solved a... what? A problem, it solved a problem. Your problems are part of a great purpose if you will look for the message within the mess.
