Henry Ford said "Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals." Of all the things I've learned from Zig Ziglar, goal-setting is one of the most profound. While everyone has goals, most do not have a goals system.
Amazingly, those who work a goals system are happier, healthier, have better relationships, and make over 200% more income than non goal-setters! Yet, studies show only three percent of us have a goals system. It doesn't make a lot of since does it? We discussed the importance of goal-setting and how it affects our self-image on last week's show "Winning With a Healthy Self-image."
Are you constantly on the go or on the grow? Busyness will keep you on the go but a goals system will keep you on the grow. In my book I Was Born to Win I cover, in detail, how to work a goals system. Working a goals system can positively change your life. Whether you learn it in my book or any other source, I highly encourage you to find out more about goals systems.

Patience is a virtue. Remember this next time you're being impatient, especially with senior citizens.

Yesterday I went to the Tampa Bay Rays baseball game. I took a group from church so it was more of a socializing time for me.
The game was kind of slow until the very end, then things really picked up - especially the speed of the baseball that hit one of the Ray's batters. It was going 93mph when it hit him solid right in the chest, ouch! The batter immediately hit the ground gasping for air. Most of us would do the same thing, I hope! What we would not do is what the young man did next. After the doctors and coaches checked on him, he shook it off and ran to first base. If he was alive, I think my dad would have said one of his oldies but goodies "Rub a little dirt on it."
While most of us would likely go to the hospital, cry, take some pain medicine, attack the pitcher, or go to sleep, the batter had different plans. Why? I don't know all the reasons but here is what I definitely do know. He had a goal that you and I did not have - to do his part in helping his team win. That goal allowed him to gain from his pain. See, he could have stopped and left the game and most of us would have understood. But since he had a goal that was larger than the pain he would go through, he hung in there! Not only did his team win, he was the very one who personally enjoyed the run-in point that gave his team the victory.
Goals will pull us through pain when other things won't. When have you hung in there? When have you stepped out or took a leap of faith? What goal has pulled you through the pain?
Knock'em alive!
